1. Such system is designed for centralized supervision of processes on board ship. 2. It is now quite practicable for the small hydroelectric set or the diesel or gas turbine generator to be started up, synchronized and brought on load under automatic control from some remote point. 3. Temperatures, pressures, levels, etc. are sensed by the analog transducers and are represented on a digital display. 4. Bridge control of the main propulsion machinery is often fitted to relieve the man in the control room, or engine room, from the necessity of remaining at all times at the central control station. 5. The design of the alarm systems comprises a limited number of standard modules, and offers an economical and flexible solution for all system sizes.
